Making Of the Bridge @ Redfields School
Mr.Pranav ,the entire management and staff believed that Redfields School should encourage child’s sense of adventure.
Madam, Prabhavthi felt active adventures bring real health and developmental benefits for kids.Everyone felt when children are helped and allowed to experience risk, it helps develop their ability to deal with it and builds self-confidence. It encourages them to think for themselves and develops their resilience. It readies them for dealing with the risks and uncertainties that are part of the big wide world . With these thoughts, Mr.Pranav as a leader along with others got into building this Bridge in the School Campus with full of trees.
As the work started they started realizing their dream project was not that easy as they initially thought. After lot of trail and errors finally they were able to see the bridge taking shape on the ground.

As the bridge started taking shape there was a sigh of relief on Mr. Pranav's and all the students & staff . Little they realized out of their joy and enthusiasm that the weight of the bridge was gaining, as they went on adding heavy logs and as the length started increasing . The dawn of the realization was when they started to tie it above as shown in the picture below. It was an impossible task irrespective of how many people joined to pull the same.
Mr. Pranav and his team were crestfallen and the disillusion started creeping in. They have to go back to the drawing board to find out the reasons behind this difficult task of pulling the bridge to the required height. The Young team were not ready to give up and wanted to do it at any cost.
It dawned on that night " Why not use JCB to pull the bridge up". Next day with there sleeves up, the entire team was with JCB in front of the unfinished challenging bridge smiling on them. To there surprise the JCB Front tires went into air due to the weight of the bridge. Fun to see this JCB going up and at the same time sadness for not succeeding. The bridge was throwing a great challenge to the Machine and human beings. Everyone felt they have to give there best one last time and see this happens. The Will of everyone prevailed and finally the Bridge was up and in place. The joy of success after many days effort could be seen in the pictures as the kids walked time and again on the bridge with a great SMILE. |
